FORT SCOTT - Joneal (Hotchkiss) Brock of Fort Scott, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born on January 1, 1941 to Ruth Lucille Hotchkiss and Neal George Hotchkiss in Burlingame Kansas. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1958. She lived in Burlingame for most of her life but in retirement, moved to Eureka Kansas and lived at the lake. Later, she then moved to Fort Scott to be closer to family.

Joneal married her high school sweetheart, Larry Ray Brock, on July 26,1959 at the Federated Church in Burlingame, Kansas. They were married for 49 years before Larry passed away. She was also proceeded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Brock, and her sister, Marilyn (Hotchkiss) Rice.

She is survived by a brother, Gene Hotchkiss (wife Kari), a sister, Janis (Hotchkiss) Grandon (husband Dennis), a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Brock) Sheldon, a daughter, Joanne Waldner (husband Bruce) of Dennard Arkansas, a son Brian Brock of Independen­ce Missouri, a granddaugh­ter Amy Smith (husband Mike) of Fort Scott Kansas, great grandchild­ren Devin Brooks (wife Alanna) of Joplin Missouri, Gavin Smith of Quapaw Oklahoma, Alyx Bennie (husband Jozua) of Saint Joseph Missouri, Emily Smith of Fort Scott Kansas. She also has a great great grandchild, Waylon Smith of Quapaw Oklahoma. She has a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog companion Tucker, her red dachshund dog.

Following cremation, Pastor Larry Stevicks, will be officiatin­g the memorial service at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fort Scott, Kansas on April 13, 2024 at 11:00am with lunch to follow. Since Joneal was so active in her church, the family suggests memorials to be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Memorials may be left in the care of the church or mailed to 2215 Native Road, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
