SHOWCASE BASKETBALL
Tim Gibson hosted the first installment of his 35th Annual March Madness Showcase with a pair of games this past weekend at the Centre Street Boys & Girls Club.
In the Rich Riggig 6th grade challenge game, T-Town Ballerz edged WeR1, 23-21, behind strong play from Mike Boiselle (6 pts), Thomas Sorber (4 pts), Niare Preston (4pts), Christian Barnes (4pts) and Calvin Moore (2pts, 10assists).
Jordan Dotson netted six points for WeR1, Anothny Aririguzoh and Earl Buensalida had five each and TJ Keese added a basket and seven assists. In the Rich Sparano 4th grade challenge game, WeR1 knocked off PJ Hill, 26-16. Baron Davis and William Felder both had 12 points for WeR1. Naseer Singletary (6pts), Rashon Williams (4pts) and Branden Washington (10 rebounds) stood out for PJ Hill.
Saturday’s event also featured the 3rd Annual Cheer/ Dance Showcase. Participants included: The TCA Dance Club; Rivera Boys & Girls Club Dance Team; Dunn Middle School Cheerleaders; Rivera Middle School Cheerleaders; and the Lady Hawks of PJ Hill. Others who made the event possible include Trenton Central athletic director Sharon Grady, Reggie Coleman and Fathers & Men United for a Better Trenton.

The Mecer County CYO playoffs are underway in both the boys and girls varsity divisions.
