False Robbery Attack: Juan Ortega-Mejia, 49, was arrested Thursday morning after he allegedly attacked two men with a knife and then called police and reported he was robbed. Officials say detectives were sent to Franklin Street to investigat­e a robbery and encountere­d Ortega, who was standing outside with blood on his jeans and shirt. While interviewi­ng Ortega, police saw two other men inside the home occasional­ly peer out of the window. After police knocked on the door, one of the men opened it, and the detectives noticed blood in the doorway. During the investigat­ion, police learned Ortega had pulled out a knife and cut one of the victims during an argument. A 38-yearold man stepped between the pair and tried to confiscate the knife, but Ortega punched him in the face. Ortega then left the home, officials say, and called police to report he was robbed. The 36-year-old victim suffered laceration­s on his hand, and both victims declined medical attention.

Pot Bust: James Bellamy, 31, was arrested Wednesday after police allegedly found him in possession of 10baggies of marijuana and $220, which was seized as suspected drug proceeds. Officials say police were patrolling the city when they conducted a random license plate check on a vehicle Bellamy was driving. During the investigat­ion, they learned the registered owner’s driver’s license had expired, so police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 800block of Parkside Avenue. Police say Bellamy pulled over and stopped the car, but then fled on foot. During the chase, police tackled Bellamy onto the ground; and there was a brief struggle before he was placed in handcuffs.

Box Cutter Attack: Joseph Piotroski, 26, was arrested early Thursday morning after he allegedly attacked a man with a box cutter. Officials say police were sent to a home in the 200block of Tyler Street to investigat­e a reported assault and heard a disturbanc­e inside the apartment when they arrived. When detectives entered the home, they saw a male victim lying on the ground with Piotroski standing over him. The 31-year-old victim told police Piotroski grabbed a box cutter and swung it at him during an argument. The knife cut the victim’s chest, and when he fell, Piotroski punched the man in the chest and back. Police recovered the box cutter, and the victim was taken to the hospital to treat a laceration on his chest.

Pot Bust Too: Hashim Long, 43, was arrested Wednesday night after police saw him engaged in an alleged drug deal. During the investigat­ion, police found Long in possession of 12 grams of marijuana and $111 in cash.

Pill Bust: Marquise Brown, 24, was arrested Thursday morning after police allegedly found him in possession of 20 Endocet pills, three Oxycodone pills, six bags of heroin and $65, which was seized. Police encountere­d Brown, who was a passenger in a car, during a motor vehicle stop.

State Police Bust: Samantha Mazzeo, 27, and Joshua Jordan, 24, were arrested Wednesday for drug possession.

Bristol, Pa.

Burglary: Approximat­ely $2,300worth of electronic­s, jewelry, and cash were stolen out of a home located in the 1700block of Newport Road. The suspect gained entry to the property through a window.

Stolen Auto: A 2012Hyunda­i valued at $10,000was stolen from the 1200block of Veterans Highway.
