False Robbery Attack: Juan Ortega-Mejia, 49, was arrested Thursday morning after he allegedly attacked two men with a knife and then called police and reported he was robbed. Officials say detectives were sent to Franklin Street to investigate a robbery and encountered Ortega, who was standing outside with blood on his jeans and shirt. While interviewing Ortega, police saw two other men inside the home occasionally peer out of the window. After police knocked on the door, one of the men opened it, and the detectives noticed blood in the doorway. During the investigation, police learned Ortega had pulled out a knife and cut one of the victims during an argument. A 38-yearold man stepped between the pair and tried to confiscate the knife, but Ortega punched him in the face. Ortega then left the home, officials say, and called police to report he was robbed. The 36-year-old victim suffered lacerations on his hand, and both victims declined medical attention.

When detectives entered the home, they saw a male victim lying on the ground with Piotroski standing over him. The 31-year-old victim told police Piotroski grabbed a box cutter and swung it at him during an argument. The knife cut the victim’s chest, and when he fell, Piotroski punched the man in the chest and back. Police recovered the box cutter, and the victim was taken to the hospital to treat a laceration on his chest.
