Pennsbury takes on Dallastown in PIAA Class A title game

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. » A long rain delay at Penn State University’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Friday afternoon kept the Pennsbury High baseball team from pursuing its first Pennsylvan­ia Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n Class 6A state title until after 8 p.m. last night.

Head coach Joe Pesci’s Falcons (21-6) are trying to win the first baseball state championsh­ip in school history, taking on 23-4 Dallastown at the Nittany Lions’ drenched field.

AMERICAN LEGION HIGHTSTOWN 9, NORTH HAMILTON 3 HAMILTON » Post 148 used 13 hits to get past the Hibos at Nottingham High.

Matt Mankowich went 3-for-4, while David Jasper, Jake Simon, Stephen Brookwell and Mike O’Hare each had two hits for Hightstown. Tommy McParland was also 3-for-4 for North Hamilton.

N. HAMILTON 10, EWING 0 HAMILTON » Patrick Luckie tossed a three-hit shutout for his second win as the Hibos defeated Post 314 at Nottingham High.

David Iorio went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI to lead North Hamilton. David Scott had two more hits, and Jack Milazzo knocked in three runs.

John Ulrich, Dom Salvatore and Anthony Larson singled for Ewing.
