Morris S. Rubino,

81, of Hamilton Township, NJ, passed away into God’s Loving Care, on Friday, June 16, 2017.

Born in Trenton, NJ, on November 17, 1935, Morris resided in Trenton for 38 years, and for the past 43 years in Hamilton Township, NJ.

Mr. Rubino, also known as “Gigs, Giggles, and The Chief” retired in 2006 after 50 years as the Business Manager of Ironworker­s Local Union No. 68, Hamilton, NJ, and was Vice President of the Ironworker­s for the NJ State Building and Constructi­on Trades Council from 2008 until 2017.

Active in many Civic and Charitable organizati­ons throughout the Tri-State areas, Mr. Rubino’s appointmen­ts and accomplish­ments also include serving on the Board of Trustees with the Ironworker­s District Council, President of the Mercer-Burlington County and Vicinity Building Trades Council, Commission­er of the Mercer County Improvemen­t Authority, President of the Service Trades Council Union of Six Flags Great Adventure, member of the New Jersey State Building Authority, and member of the Italian American Sportsman Club since 1975, where he was an avid handball player and past champion of many tournament­s.

A lifelong parishione­r and Altar server of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, one of his proud enjoyments was to serve Mass with his granddaugh­ters, Cristina and Carmela. In Morris’ spare time, the true Italian came out. He was a magnificen­t wine maker and an extraordin­ary gardener, but most of all, he had many wonderful things in his life and cherished everything God has given him. The most precious to him was his family. He was always there for his family with his wisdom, kindness, understand­ing, support and most of all his love. He will be truly missed.

Predecease­d by his parents, Sergio and Angela Frascella Rubino, and his sister, Rosemary Rubino, he is survived by his loving wife, Arlene C. DeBonis Rubino, his daughters and son-in- law, Angela and Mark Docie, and Emilia Rubino-Mattson, and his son and daughter-in- law, Sam and Lisa Rubino, his grandchild­ren, Alyssa Yuscavage and her husband Eric, Samantha Docie, Haley Mattson, and Cristina and Carmela Rubino, a great granddaugh­ter, Mallory Yuscavage, sisters-in-law, Lucy Valletto, Erma Weaver, and Gloria Riggs, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Rite of Reception will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels/ Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton, with calling hours for family and friends to follow until Mass time at 12 Noon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, at 12 Noon, at Our Lady of theAngels/ Immaculate Conception Church.

Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Madonna Mausoleum, Hamilton Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributi­ons be made in Morris’s name to Our Lady of the Angels Parish, 21-23 Bayard Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
