Eugene Joseph Salvadore, 90, of Newtown, PA

Eugene Joseph Salvadore, 90, of Newtown, PA, died on June 17, 2017, at Doylestown Hospital. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Penndel, Gene was a 60 year resident of Newtown.

Gene is a proud Navy Veteran of WWII under Admiral Nimitz stationed at Pearl Harbor. He worked as a plumber with his brother Jim. He was a surveyor from Pickering Courts and Summerson, and Korman Corp. where he later retired. He enjoyed bowling and golf, and later hunting and fishing at Stone Mountain Lodge in Bradford County, PA. He attended the Lutheran Church of God’s Love with his wife Donna.

Gene is the son of the late James J. and Jane O’Brien Salvadore and the loving husband of the late Donna Durst Salvadore and brother of the late James (Anne) Salvadore and the late Jane (Robert) Schardinger. He is the devoted father of Eugene J. and his wife Martha Salvadore Jr, William A. and his wife Christine Salvadore, Andrew J. and his wife Karen Salvadore, Nancy J. and her husband Albert Einwechter, and Michael J. Salvadore. Gene is the proud grandfather of Jillian, Julia, Maxwell, Adam, Hannah, Billy and Luke and the great grandfather of Lily Rose. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward and wife Mary Salvadore and Thomas and wife Connie Salvadore, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gene’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, June 28 from 6 to 8 PM, with his memorial service to follow at the Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment with Military Honors will be on Friday, June 30, promptly at 8:45 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
