Chemistry key to Cranbury-Plainsboro’s success

Manager Andrew Liggio knows when it comes to chemistry, nobody has more than the Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League All-Stars.

And if that is any indication, he believes this might be a fun summer for this group of boys when the District 12 Tournament starts.

“I love that all the kids love playing for each other as teammates,” Liggio said. “This group has largely been together since 7U, and it’s great just to see them grow up into becoming young men (and) playing baseball together is part of that.”

C-P gets its first crack on Friday night against West Windsor. The winner advances to face Robbinsville on Saturday morning.

Liggio expects a competitive tournament. “It’s going to be very competitive,” he said. “We’ve seen them in travel, and in tournaments. We know anyone can beat anyone on any given day.”

For it to be C-P’s day, the bats need to click. “We’re streaky,” Liggio said. “When we hit, it’s contagious, and it goes up and down the lineup. We’re hoping it starts to be contagious on the 30th.”
