Bookholdt gets prestigiou­s award at Polo Junior Golf Classic

Ryan Hall, Joe Highsmith and Prescott Butler trail by one shot after posting 69s.

Youngin Chun leads the girls championsh­ip following a 3-under-par-69.

Sophie Guo, Sabrina Iqbal and Gurleen Kaur share second-place after 70s.

Tournament action continues today with boys playing a morning round. Girls follow in early after noon.

The 72-hole stroke play event features 72 boys and 60 girls.

The field, which includes players from 13 countries and 26 states, cuts to the top 36 boys and 30 girls after third round scoring.

Meanwhile, Northern Burlington High graduate Haley Bookholdt received the USGA-AJGA Presidents’ Leadership Award. Bookhold shot a 5-over 77 in her round on Tuesday.

Grant Fairbairn of Orinda, California earned the boys award.
