Robert A. Devine, 78, of Lawrenceville
Robert A. Devine, 78, of Lawrenceville passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the University Hospital of Princeton at Plainsboro with his family by his side.
Born and raised in Trenton, Bob was a resident of Lawrenceville for 54 years. He was a graduate of Trenton High School Class of 1956. Bob was a 2007 retiree of The Trenton Fire Department, where he was employed for 30 years. Bob was also a master carpenter/cabinetmaker. Bob worked two jobs throughout his adult life to fund the education of his two boys. He was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. Robert was a member of the Voyager Motorcycle Club and the Retired Fireman’s Benevolent Association. Some of his hobbies included trips to Lake George with his beloved wife Rita, gardening and woodworking. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family who relied on his wisdom and guidance. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Son of the late George and Ruth Devine; brother of the late George Devine; he is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Rita A. Devine; two sons and daughtersin-law Robert G. and Victoria A. Devine, James S. and Katherine N. Devine; his grandchildren Robert G. Devine Jr. and his fiancée Jenna Quattrone, Kevin P. Devine (Devon Miller), Kyle C. Devine, Katelin R. Honer, and James N. Devine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Interment will follow at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8PM and again on Wednesday morning from 9-10AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
