Pyontek, Erickson lead Mercer Senior Better Ball

WEST WINDSOR » Ray Pyontek and Ed Erickson set a blistering pace in Mercer County Senior Better Ball action with a 5-under-par 67 at Mercer Oaks East GC but the veteran tandem holds a slim lead.

Greg Buliga and Paul Dansbury trail by just one after a 4-under 68 as two weekend rounds approach.

Jeff McMahon and Tom Manchin were the final group under the card with 71 while Jim Anthony and Jim Gavaghan managed even-par 72.

Marty Dansbury and Al Padovano started defense of their Super Senior title with 6-under 66, good for a three-shot lead over Bill Bartolino and Tom Beer (69).

Ansley Jessup and Jay Davidson managed 2-under 70.

Other scores in the Senior Division included 74s by Rob Ortiz and Gene Goudy; Mark Cubberley paired with Vince Giannacio, plus, Mark Rubino and Tim Rimmer.
