Time to let O.J. Simpson’s story fade away

- L.A. Parker Columnist

It’s time to put O.J. Simpson in our rearview mirror.

Or, let him escape into the boonies ahead of us. Please, no scoped rifles.

All together now.

Run, O.J.! Run!

A colleague offered up O.J. Simpson as a great American story that has everything including a star athlete, fame, fortune, murder, Hollywood, race and yada, yada.

There’s domestic violence, drugs, alcohol and police ambivalence regarding locking up a beloved athlete despite the fact he beat the hell out of his wife on numerous occasions.

Orenthal James Simpson hopes to gain freedom when he petitions the Nevada Parole Board for parole tomorrow after being found guilty in 2008 of armed robbery, kidnapping and other charges.

Of course, Simpson’s appearance will be televised. Here we go again.

Roll that 1994 tape again of Simpson being driven around in that white Ford Bronco after allegedly killing his exwife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

The coworker forgot transference as O.J. Simpson exists as a conduit for prejudice, bigotry and racism.

O.J. Simpson serves as metaphor for black people. Period.

The basic insight about the O.J. Simpson incident involved a man peering into a window and being pissed off that his former wife perform sexual magic tricks for another guy.

That’s when O.J. Simpson likely delivered the insanity spoken by hundreds of deranged men, “If I can’t have her then nobody else will.”

Oy, vey.

People keep talking about O.J. Simpson, making movies and documentaries because white America will never let go even though it’s time.

If O.J. committed the most heinous crime then somebody explain U.S. history and our nation stained by blood, genocide, slavery, internment camps and violence against women.

O.J. Simpson got away with murder just like this country dodges a history of chains, ropes, handcuffs and coffins.

Sure, the jury got this wrong, just like the jury mishandled Rodney King, Philando Castile and many other court decisions that involve minority men.

By the way. Some crackpot will make an attempt on Simpson’s life.

If successful, that assassin will receive a ticker tape parade and honors across this great land despite the fact that it’s time to end the Simpson insanity.

The Juice is about to be on the loose.

On your mark. Get set. Run, O.J. Run.
