Woman wanted in car theft scheme that used fake IDs
WESTAMPTON » Police are searching for a woman who allegedly participated in a car theft scheme that purchased vehicles using lines of credit obtained with fraudulent identities.
According to officials, on July 7 and 10 a man identified as Arthur McCoy, 40, of Pennsylvania, and the wanted unidentified female used fake identifications to obtain lines of credit to finance vehicles at the J&S Autohaus dealership in Westampton.
Police say the suspects used fraudulent Pennsylvania driver’s licenses that had their photographs, but contained other people’s personal information on them.
On July 7, the pair financed a 2014 Audi A7 valued at $43,612. And on July 10, they financed a 2014 Audi Q7 valued at $38,785.
Officials say the pair used the same fraudulent credentials each time, and provided social security numbers and other personal information from identity theft victims in Pennsylvania to obtain the lines of credit.
On July 14, Arthur McCoy and 37-year-old Brian McCoy were arrested by Ewing Police while trying to purchase a third vehicle from the J&S Autohaus dealership in Ewing Township. The Audi Q7 was recovered at the time of their arrest.
Anyone who can identify the unknown female is asked to contact the Westampton Township Police Department at 609267-3000.
