Marian R. Lewis,

72 of Trenton, NJ, departed this life on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Born and educated in Loris, SC, Mrs. Lewis was a resident of Trenton for most of her life.

She retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Health after many years of dedicated service.

She was a faithful member of Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

She is predeceased by her father, Archie Vereen; a son, James Jimmy Lewis and a grandson, Jafar Lewis. She is survived by her mother, Angeline Hickman-Vereen; six children, Daphne Bonner (Alex), Jacqueline Marshall (Wesley), Deborah Lewis, Amir Shabazz (Amber), Mark Q Lewis (Dondria) and Timothy D. Lewis (Celisa) and a special friend, Cheron Copper; seven siblings, Margaretta Cricket Wilson, Patricia Lewis, Margaret Williams (Elder Noah), Alvie Vereen (Beverly), Archie Vereen (Yvonne), William Joseph Vereen (Eva) and Donald A. Vereen; 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; three godchildren including Wanda McNeil and Readus Ellison, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Bro. Cleave Heading.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11:00am at Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church 66 Race St. Trenton, NJ.

Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9am to 11am at the church.

Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
