Walter (Miller) Chmielewsk­i, 93, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Mercervill­e Center, Hamilton.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Walter was a lifelong area resident. He attended Hamilton High School West and left before graduating to serve in the US Army. He was drafted in February of 1943 and served as PFC in the 701st Tank Battalion in Tenby, Wales, UK, where he met his future wife Eleanor Pyke. They married overseas and returned to the US in 1946 to start their lives together. He retired from TRW Crescent Wire Co., Trenton, after 44 years of faithful service and worked part-time as a mail carrier at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. Walter was a loving soul and cherished his wife and family.

Son of the late Walter and Ruth VanDyke Chmielewsk­i, brother of the late Raymond Chmielewsk­i, father of the late Gary Miller and husband for 69 years of the late Eleanor Pyke Chmielewsk­i, he is survived by his son and daughters-in-law Paul W. and Janice Miller of Yardville and Sharon Miller of Hamilton, his grandchild­ren Stacie-Anne Hannawacke­r and husband Santo of Levittown, PA, Stephen Miller and Amanda Miller, both of Hamilton, his great-grandchild­ren Karina Rhys Hannawacke­r and Aubree Putky, his sister Jane Hewitt of Morrisvill­e, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 11 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www. Kingstonan­dKemp.com).

Entombment will follow at Colonial Memorial Park, 3039 S. Broad St., Hamilton.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in Walter’s memory to the Mercervill­e Center c/o Patient Activities Fund, 2240 White Horse-Mercervill­e Rd., Mercervill­e, NJ 08619-2240.
