WESTAMPTON

Illegal ATV Joyride: Westampton Patrolman Matthew Lloyd responded to the playground located in the area of Churchill Street and Greenwich Drive for a report of a subject riding an ATV about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The operator of the ATV sped off toward the direction of Tallowood Drive when he observed Lloyd arrive at the location. Due to the distance that he initially observed the operator and the dark lighting conditions, Lloyd was unable to obtain a description of the operator. Additional patrol officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect ATV. An inspection of the playground and fields revealed that the operator performed “donuts” in the mulch bed, causing a substantial amount of mulch to fly out of the play area and causing damage to the grass. Anyone with information regarding this offense is urged to contact the Westampton Township Police Department at (609) 267-3000.
