NBC pulls away from WW-PS in opener

COLUMBUS » West Windsor-Plainsboro South put up a solid first half effort and fought host Northern Burlington in route to a 38-14 loss.

Amir Stevenson scored three times on the day rushing the ball for the Greyhounds while Cameron Clauser chipped in two rushing TDs.

The Pirates’ Max Bruno caught a 20 yard touchdown pass from Anthony Taylor and Xavier Smith ran back an 85 yard kickoff return to keep the game close before the winners pulled away.

MO-BEARD 50, PENNINGTON 22 MORRISTOWN » The Red Raiders couldn’t contain Morristown-Beard’s Taj Valentine as he scampered for 338 yards on 19 carries. Ian Crossland paced the losers with 84 yards on 10 carries and had 10 tackles on defense. Brandon West went 8-for-15 including 146 yards passing and two TDs despitye the loss.
