The following items are based on information from police, unless otherwise noted:
TRENTON
Drug Arrest: Rayshawn Baines, 36, of Trenton, also known as Buzz, was arrested last Thursday at his Church Street residence when the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force raided his house and found drugs, weapons and cash. A search of the residence revealed 400 grams of powder cocaine, 76 grams of crack cocaine, 69 Percocet pills, seven pounds of marijuana, a Ruger semiautomatic 9mm handgun with a fully loaded 30-round magazine, a Taurus semiautomatic .45 caliber handgun and $15,904 in cash. Authorities say the confiscated drugs were worth about $56,000 on the street. Baines has been charged
with numerous drug charges and weapons offenses and could potentially be held in jail without bail on pretrial detention.
More Drug-related Arrests: Lamar Priester, 41; Michael Butler, 28; Ashley Wadley, 23; and Michael Gayle, 48, all of Trenton, were arrested last Friday during a police operation that led to the seizure of drugs and cash. Trenton Police Street Crime Unit detectives about 6 p.m. last Friday were patrolling the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on a report of a possible male armed with a gun. The officers arrived on scene and observed several individuals at an abandoned property. One of the individuals, identified as Priester, matched the description of the possible gunman. When he saw detectives approaching, he fled into the abandoned building, prompting the police to chase after him and place him under arrest. During the apprehension, Priester allegedly discarded drugs and kicked a detective in the chest when the officers were attempting to put him in a patrol vehicle. Priester was charged with aggravated assault, defiant trespass, possession of drugs, and distribution of drugs, among other offenses. Police say Priester possessed 30 grams of marijuana, 15 grams of crack cocaine, $551 in currency and an assortment of hollow-point bullets. The other defendants were charged as follows: Butler was charged with defiant trespass and possession of marijuana for being in alleged possession of 3 grams of pot; Wadley was charged with defiant trespass and several drug offenses for being in alleged possession of 7 grams of marijuana, 1 gram of crack cocaine and $339 in currency; and Gayle was charged with defiant trespass and also found to have three active warrants out for his arrest.

Arrests: Genesis Torres, 40; Manuel Sierra Jr., 42; Jerry Self, 37; and Shawn Harris, 36, all of Trenton, were arrested Saturday night following a drug investigation. Police about 4:40 p.m. Saturday conducted an investigation in the area of Federal and Lamberton streets due to numerous citizen complaints of illegal narcotics distribution occurring in that South Trenton neighborhood. During the investigation, Torres was found in alleged possession of $993 in currency, five bags of heroin, 5 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of cocaine, and one bag of assorted handgun rounds; Sierra was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; Self was charged with possession of marijuana and had two active warrants; and Harris was charged with loitering to buy a controlled dangerous substance and also had two active warrants.
Aggravated Assault Arrest: Chesley Dennison, 33, of Trenton, was arrested early Tuesday on charges he attacked a victim on the 800 block of North Olden Avenue. Dennison walked into a store about 3:50 a.m. and became unruly when an individual in the store asked him to leave. At that point, Dennison grabbed a bottle and struck the victim in the face with the bottle, causing the victim to suffer a broken nose. The victim, a 28-year-old city man, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. Dennison fled the scene after the attack but was found by Detective Ahmad Mansur of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Burglar Suspect Busted: Corey Ferguson, 41, of Trenton, was arrested Sunday on allegations he tried breaking into a car on the 600 block of Hoffman Avenue. Police observed him using a flathead screwdriver in an attempt to pry open the driver’s side door of the vehicle while looking up and down the street. Police arrested him about 7 p.m. Sunday and charged him with burglary and possession of burglary tools.
