The Redbirds’ key to success in their 2-1 win over Toms River East in the sectional final was the play of freshmen wingers Olivia Denney and Olivia Ricci.

With the score tied at one, Denney beat her defender and won a penalty kick, which Ricci converted for her ninth goal of the season.

Both need to be at their attacking best, which means running past defenders and looking to get crosses in to forward Emma Pascarella (17 goals) and midfielder Vanessa Rodriguez
