Scouting Ocean City

The Red Raiders have 19 wins this season and posted a 9-1 record in the Cape-Atlantic National Division. They were the top seed in South Group III and won the section without conceding a goal, grabbing victories over Central Regional (4-0), Gloucester Tech (2-0), Lacey (2-0) and Cherry Hill West (0-0; 2-1 on penalties).

There is one common opponent between the two sides. Ocean City beat West Deptford, 1-0, on Oct. 2, while Allentown unleashed a 7-1 victory on Sept. 25. The Red Raiders also suffered one of their three setbacks against Burlington Twp. (21), which was the No. 3 seed in the Central sectional and lost to the Toms River East team the Redbirds beat in the final.

Keep an eye on freshman standout Faith Slimmer, who has a team-high 21 goals and eight assists. She’s already given a verbal pledge to Rutgers.
