Meeting musicians at Trenton’s Sovereign Bank Arena
Back when the Sovereign Bank Arena punctuated Trenton with powerful acts, a gold mine of opportunity existed for pulling photos with celebrity music stars.
Chris Santoro made snapshots a habit as he and wingman, Vince Graziano haunted rock stars. Santoro described security as lax which allowed two special encounters with super stars.
Santoro and Graziano scored this photo with Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish.
Rucker got discovered while singing in the shower at the University of South Carolina before band members hooked up for their 1994 smash and grab fame debut album “Cracked Rear View”.
Rucker killed “Only Wanna Be With You”, “Hold My Hand” and “Let Her Cry.”
Santoro and Graziano recorded another brush with greatness when they connected with members of Velvet Revolver at SBA.
Let Santoro talk about this gold piece of photography.
“That’s Robert Stewart (far left) Slash, me and Vince Graziano again,” Santoro wrote.
It’s been a decade (December 2007) since Velvet Revolver riffed up Trenton’s SB Arena.
Hootie and the Blowfish appeared here in August 2006.
Chris, thanks for sharing your photo collection.
Next week? A local security guy shakes up the world and “Brush with Greatness.”
