Weledji leads Princeton women past Delaware

PRINCETON » Tia Weledji scored a career-high 22 points on 8-for-12 from the floor and the Princeton women’s basketball team bounced back with a resounding 78-60 victory over Delaware on Saturday afternoon at Jadwin Gym.

Weledji, a senior form Overland Park, Kansas, is averaging 11.1 points per game for the Tigers (4-2).

Carlie Littlefiel­d added 15 points and Leslie Robinson finished with 14. Sophomore Bella Alaire, who had 29 and nine rebounds in the near-miss against No. 25 Villanova, chipped in with nine and nine boards.

Nicole Enabasi scored 22 for the Blue Hens (4-4). RUTGERS 59, SIENA 47 PISCATAWAY » Tyler Scaife notched 18 points, Ciani Cryor added 10 and the Scarlet Knights (7-2) used a 20-7 first-quarter run to put the Saints (3-4) away early.

TCNJ 58, KEAN 42 UNION » The Lions (5-1) shut out the Cougars (3-3) in the fourth quarter, 19-0, to rally for a conference victory.

Johnson connected on 11for-14 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Kamila Hoskova added 15 points for Rider, which returns to action Wednesday at La Salle.
