Kathryn Marie “Babs” DiMemmo

(nee Ryan) 80, passed away on December 12, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Brooklyn, NY surrounded by her loving family.

Daughter of the late Michael Joseph Ryan and Kathryn Ann Clancey, sister of the late Peggy Ann Ryan and Joseph Michael Ryan; Babs is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, John DiMemmo, her daughter Melissa DiMemmo and her husband Damon Crepin; her daughter Melanie DiMemmo; her two loving grandchild­ren, Phoenix Crepin and Chloe DiMemmo; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Born and raised in Trenton, Babs remained a lifelong resident until her death.

She attended Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Villa Victoria Academy and Trenton Central High.

She worked for Arnold Constable and Company, the Fifth Avenue-based specialty store chain, as one of the first employees for their Trenton store as well as a model for their women’s clothing catalogue. During that time, she went to school to become a dental hygienist and subsequent­ly worked several years for Dr. Lee Isaacson, a prominent Trenton area dentist. She then spent a few years working with the NJ Board of Elections until she had her first daughter. She stayed home to raise her two daughters until they were ready to go to school at which point she went to work for the New Jersey Department of the Public Advocate, where she stayed until her retirement in 2003.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17th, from 4-7pm at Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 0862.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, 9:30 a.m. at the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton Twp., NJ 08619. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bab’s name to a charitable organizati­on of your choice or to the Poor Clares of Chesterfie­ld, New Jersey, a community near and dear to her heart and to whom she turned to for prayers for her family and friends in need: Monastery of Saint Clare, 150 White Pine Road, Chesterfie­ld, NJ 08515
