Who: Princeton (4-6) at Southern California (6-3)

When: Tuesday, 11 p.m., Galen Center, Los Angeles

TV/ Radio: Pac 12 Network/ WPRB 103.3 FM

Last Time Out: Princeton def. Cal Poly, 80-60; USC def. UC Santa Barbara, 98-87

Series History: USC leads 1-0 Background: The Tigers continue their west coach trip with what could be the first of two meetings against the Trojans. The only other time these two programs met was a 70-52 USC victory on Dec. 28, 1972 at, of all places, the Palestra. They could play twice in less than a week at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, which begins on Friday.

Looks Familiar: The Tigers got off to a 4-6 start last season before proceeding to win their next 19 games en route to the Ivy League championship. This team isn’t nearly the same, having graduated two All-Ivy players, but Mitch Henderson’s group has started to come together in victories over Monmouth and Cal Poly. Princeton made a season-high 16 3-pointers in the win over Cal Poly.

3 And D: In the Tigers’ four wins, they are shooting an even 50 percent, while holding opponents to 42.2 percent. The result is an average plus-13 point differential in those four wins. Of course, Princeton hasn’t found a way to win yet on nights when it doesn’t shoot well. In the six setbacks, the Tigers are chucking at 41.8 percent, while allowing opponents to shoot 49.1 percent. Scouting USC: The Trojans are coming off a victory over a decent UC Santa Barbara team. They needed a careerhigh 31 points from Chimenzie Metu and Pac-12 single game record 19 assists from Jordan McLaughlin. A 6-1 senior, McLaughlin broke his own single-game USC record of 16 dimes. His 8.1 assists per game ranks fourth nationally. Metu (17.8 ppg) is one of four players averaging in double figures.
