Hopewell Valley squashes Nottingham

HOPEWELL TWP. » The Hopewell Valley wrestling team ran its record to 3-0 on Thursday night with a 46-24 victory over Nottingham.

Coming off its win over Delaware Valley earlier in the week, Hopewell did not use its full varsity lineup. In terms of which team won the match it didn’t matter as the Bulldogs started the festivities with a bang on a 13-second fall by 195-pounder Ben Markulec.

Other Hopewell pinners included Christian Micikas (106), Chris Lanciano (120), Dan Amon (126) and Max Ronollo (182).

Hopewell will return to action Saturday morning when it hosts a tough Cranford squad. Next up for Nottingham is home match Saturday morning against improved Lawrence.
