Doris L. Freeman of Trenton, NJ age

75 passed away January 2, 2018 at home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, and was a lifelong resident of Trenton.

She was educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School. She was also was a graduate of The College of New Jersey, formally named Trenton State College, Ewing, NJ.

Doris was employed for 34 years by the Trenton Board of Education, Trenton, NJ until she retired in 2012.

She was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ.

Doris was the daughter of the late Margaret and George Counts Sr., wife of the late Louis Freeman, sister of the late Howard and George Counts Jr., grandmother of the late Aaron Counts and Paris Johnson, and great-grandmother of the late Yahsan Taylor.

Doris is survived by her children, Darlene and Denise Counts, Harry Johnson (Kim), George Johnson, Brenda Sumter (Clarence), and Samuel Freeman, her sisters, Gloria Pittman (Jimmy), and Peggy Bowmen, a brother, Charles Counts “Frog”, twenty- six children, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries Inc., 1217 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr. Way, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
