Background: The first Ivy League weekend is here with the Lions and Big Red visiting in a back-to-back. The Tigers have 19 straight Ivy League home games. Princeton breaks for finals after Saturday night’s game.

DC 1,000: Devin Cannady surpassed the 1,000-point mark in the loss at Penn, but more impressively, the junior guard is on pace to eventually pass Ian Hummer for second on the program’s all-time scoring list. Hummer scored 1,625 points, a number that ranks only behind the legendary Bill Bradley (2,503). Cannady is on pace for 537 points this season alone, the highest single season total since Brian Taylor netted 563 in the 1970-71 season. Cannady is averaging 18.5 points per game and shooting 43.1 percent from behind the arc.

Scouting Columbia: The Lions are 1-10 this season when opponents shoot at least 40 percent and that doesn’t bode well coming into Jadwin. Keep an eye on sophomore guard Mike Smith, who averages 18.1 points per game.

Scouting Cornell: Speaking of scoring. Nobody in the Ivy League doesn’t it better than Matt Morgan. The junior guard ranks fourth in the nation in scoring at 24.9 points per game. He shoots at 50.9 percent from the field and makes 82.5 percent of his free throws. Morgan has already compiled 1,340 career points and he’ll be within range of the rare 2,000-point mark as a senior. Stone Gettings, a 6-8 junior forward, averages 15.8 points and is a nice compliment to Morgan. The Big Red is coached by former Princeton star and assistant coach Brian Earl. Early went 8-21 overall and 4-10 in the Ivy in his first season, but Cornell has already shown significant improvement through the non-league portion of the schedule and could make a run at a top-four spot this season.
