James Carmichael
1948-2018
James “Jimmy
Ray” Carmichael, born to the late John and Pecola Carmichael in Dillon, South Carolina on May
19, 1948, made a peaceful transition from this life, surrounded by family and friends on January 13, 2018, at the Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, New Jersey.
James was educated in the Dillon County School District. After relocating to Trenton, New Jersey, James began his employment with the Wenzel Tile Company and rendered 25 years of dedicated service with the company. Thereafter, James was employed at Robert Wood Hospital and Capital Health Medical Center, where he remained up until the time of his passing. James was also a long time member of the Cycle Kings Motorcycle Club of Trenton, New Jersey.
James was predeceased by his parents, John and Pecola Carmichael; brothers, Harvey Carmichael and Grady McNeil and sister, Christella Campbell.
James leaves to cherish his memories are: his loving and devoted wife Diane Carmichael; children, Arnold, Corey, Eboni and Erica (Jazz Nixon); siblings, Mae Helen Page of Hamilton, New Jersey, John Carmichael of Trenton, New Jersey, Mary Smutherman of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Eddie Joe Carmichael of Trenton, New Jersey, Larry (Brenda) Carmichael of Archdale, North Carolina and Esther Williams of Camden, New Jersey, along with many grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 10am Fri Jan. 19, 2018 at the Word to The World Church, 29 W. Front St, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 8am until time of service at the church. Entombment will be at the Colonial Memorial Park, 3039 South Broad Street, Hamilton, New Jersey. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
