Steinert continues to roll with win over Red Bank

MIDDLETOWN » Jayda Bing scored 16 points to lead three Steinert players in double figures as the Spartans girls basketball team held off Red Bank Regional, 57-53, in the Slam Dunk Autism Challenge at Middletown High North.

Natalie Mehl’s 12 points and Tatiana Dorner’s 11 rounded out the double-digit scorers for Steinert, which won its eighth straight to improve to 11-3.

Meghan Murray led all scorers with 18 points, and her teammate, Bridget Tobin, followed with 17 points for the Bucs, who trailed, 29-16, at in- termission before closing the gap.
