Hamilton man found deceased in tanning bed at gym
HAMILTON » A place where people work out turned into a crime scene this week.
Police responded Monday to Crunch Fitness gym located at 2465 S. Broad Street in Hamilton for a report of a deceased male. Nicholas Ricigliani, 27, of Hamilton, was found dead in a tanning bed, township police said in a statement.
Police do not suspect foul play. Sources say Ricigliani died of a possible drug overdose. The sources, who wished to remain anonymous, said Ricigliani was in the tanning bed for indeterminate amount of time before he was found by staff.
When reached by phone on Thursday, a manager at the gym declined comment.
The Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
According to his obituary, Ricigliani was born in Trenton and resided in Hamilton for most of his life. He worked at Acme in Bordentown and was a 2009 graduate of Hamilton High School West.
The obituary hints that Ricigliani struggled with drugs, urging for people to contact A Future After Rehab (AFAR) in Columbus, a “cause dear to Nicky’s heart.”
His family lists Ricigliani’s passions as music, cooking and working out at the gym. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan, “but most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends,” the obituary states.
Ricigliani’s funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Ave., in Trenton.
