Evelyn Anita Bishop of Trenton

Evelyn Anita “Nete” Bishop of Trenton, NJ age 102 passed away January 29, 2018 at Marcella Center, Burlington Township, NJ.

Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.

She was educated in the Trenton School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School.

She was retired from the State of New Jersey, Division of Motor Vehicles.

Anita was a past Mercer County President of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, Trenton, NJ, and Shiloh Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ where she was an organist for the Gospel Chorus, the Male Chorus, and the Youth Choir. She was a member of Group 25 at Shiloh Baptist Church, and she was also a member and Organist at Bethel A.M.E Church in Bristol, PA.

Anita was the wife of the late Mahlon Bishop, and one sister, Virginia who preceded her in meeting the Lord.

She is survived by many nieces, and greatnieces, nephews and great-nephews, several cousins, and a host of friends and admirers.

Funeral service will be 10:30am Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 8:30am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be 12:30pm at Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, NJ.
