Food Fight: Michael Bynum, 27, was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly stole food from a gas station and then fought police who tried to apprehend him. Officials say a cop encountered Bynum after a Sunoco gas attendant flagged down law enforcement on Sanhican Drive around 9:30 a.m. The attendant told police the suspect ran down Sullivan Way, which is where a cop found Bynum, who matched the suspect description provided by the gas attendant. As the cop tried to detain him, officials say, Bynum flailed his arms and struck the policeman, sparking a physical struggle. An unknown passerby eventually helped the cop subdue Bynum, who is charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest and shoplifting. Police say he stole food from the gas station.
Stolen Car: Jeffery Dickerson, 29, was arrested after police found him driving a stolen vehicle. Officials say cops witnessed Dickerson turn without using a signal, so they searched the vehicle’s license plate in a database and learned the car and the tag had been reported stolen. Officials say the gold Infiniti was previously reported stolen out of Philadelphia, and that the license plate belonged to a Nissan and was stolen out of Pennsylvania as well.
Escape Warrant: Tyreek Holmes, 30, was arrested over the weekend in connection with an escape warrant that was issued earlier this year. Officials say Holmes managed to flee while still wearing handcuffs after he was apprehended for trespassing on January 24.
Officials say cops were distracted by a second suspect when Holmes fled. Warrants were then issued for his arrest and he was charged with escape, obstructing the administration of law and theft.
Heroin and Fake Pot: Jamaar Powell, 31, was arrested over the weekend after police allegedly found him in possession of 10 decks of heroin and three grams of synthetic marijuana.
