Ruth Elizabeth Richards

Ruth Elizabeth Richards, the second eldest of seven children of the late Robert Ross Burrell Sr. and Mildred Burrell was born on August 16,

1930 in Somerset, NJ.

Ruth was the wife of the late Arthur John Richards, and sister of the late Elsie Washington, Delores Taylor, and Muriel Hill.

She departed this life at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ on Sunday morning, February 4, 2018.

Ruth received her education in the Princeton Public School System. She continued her education in the city of Trenton to become a certified LPN. She was employed by the Henry J. Austin Health Center for fourteen years and worked eighteen years for Pediatric Dr. Robinson of West State St. in Trenton, NJ.

Ruth loved the Lord and accepted the lord at an early age at the Morning Star Church of God in Christ in Princeton, NJ.

After marrying Arthur Richards she moved to Trenton and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church.

She later held the position of Head Deaconess (The Chairperson) for eight years as she served faithfully. She also sang in the Echoes of Shiloh for over forty years.

Ruth leaves to rejoice in her memory, her brother Robert Burrell Jr. (Gloria), sister Katherine F. Courtney (Rev. Esau Courtney Jr.), and Mildred Dukes (Howard), a special cousin Blanche of Coatesville, NJ, many other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr. Way Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 11am until time of service at the church. Interment Crosswicks Cemetery, Crosswicks, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
