Capes, 87, of Pennington, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Capes was a homemaker for several years while raising her seven children. She went on to work at the Goodall Rubber Company, where she was the first female receiving supervisor. She coached numerous youth sports teams and served as President of her Housing Associatio­n. In her spare time, she loved to cook for her family, make crafts, read, garden, go to the beach, spend time outdoors and during the holidays, she loved to create elaborate outdoor holiday decoration­s.

Predecease­d by her parents, John and Florence (McCrudden) Champion, her husband, Edward C. Capes, Sr., and her son, Dennis Capes; she is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward C., Jr. and Karen Capes of Robbinsvil­le, Randy J. and Karla Capes of Chesterfie­ld, and Jeffrey B. Capes and companion, Julie of Hancock, NY; her three daughters and three sons-in-law, Dawn M. and Wayne Blauth of Pennington, Susan A. and Gary Pfaff of Hamilton, and Kimberlee E. and John Gonzalez of Hamilton; her twelve grandchild­ren and five greatgrand­children.

Funeral services will begin on Monday, February 12, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08690.

Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
