Terhune Orchards Vineyards & Winery Releases New Wines, Hosts Wine & Chocolate Events, Launches Music Series in February & March

-

Wine lovers have a lot to be excited about this winter season. During February and March, Terhune Orchards winery tasting room is open every Friday – Sunday. 12-5 p.m. Warm up with our hot mulled wine and try a tasting flight or glass of our wines. Join us for special winery events in the winery production barn.

Everyone seems to agree that wine and chocolate were made for each other. We have two great weekends planned in February to celebrate the famous pairing. Come by from 12-5 on any of these delicious dates. Add to the festivities with a cheese tray and other light fare.

On Feb. 10 and 11 we join other wineries across the state for The Wine and Chocolate Trail Weekend hosted by Garden State Wine Growers Association. Taste chocolate treats made from scratch in our bakery along with our wines. Bring your loved ones, friends and family to enjoy sweet treats on this festive Wine Trail Weekend. Be a sweetheart and bring your valentine a bottle of wine and chocolate to share at home.

On Feb. 17-18, we continue to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Wine & Chocolate Weekend. Enjoy chocolate baked goods homemade in Terhune’s own bakery and locally made chocolates paired with our award-winning wines. Catch up with friends by the fire pit outside the winery or sit inside the cozy winery barn. On Sunday, enjoy the music of farm favorite Jerry Steele.

On Feb. 24 and 25, Terhune Orchards winery is uncorking their two latest wines, Traminette and Heritage Chardonnay, at a Wine Release Party from 12-5 p.m.

Terhune Orchards Winery owner, Gary Mount says, “We are thrilled to release our two latest wines, Traminette and Heritage Chardonnay. They are both unique and complement the other dozen wines that have been so successfully received by our customers. In 2006 we started growing twelve varieties of grapes on five acres. Over the years we’ve more than doubled our acreage, added more varietals and have built a new wine processing barn to handle making and bottling our estate grown wines all right here on the farm.”

Traminette is a medium dry wine that is spicy and fragrant with a floral aroma. Notes of citrus and orange blossoms come through. Nice honey flavors make for a sweet finish. This wine pairs wonderfully with spicy and Asian foods.

Heritage Chardonnay is our outstanding 2016 vintage. A clean, light, dry wine with a crisp finish, it is aromatic with a light oak finish.

Enjoy a free sample of the two new wines during the weekend. Wine by the glass, tasting flights of all Terhune Orchards wines and light fare will also be available. Live music from 1pm-4pm each day. Feb. 24 Jerry Steele will perform and Larry Tritel on Feb. 25.

Another perfect pairing is wine and song. To complement our summer Sips and Sounds series, we introduce a new winter Sunday Music Series on Sundays in the winery. Enjoy local musicians each week, as they play country, bluegrass and jazz, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. No cover charge. Wine tasting is $7 per person. Wine by the glass and light fare is available.
