Prevented Knife Fight: Rafael Osorio, 28, and Angel Salazar, 27, were arrested after police prevented a knife fight around 12:20 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Liberty Street and Deklyn Avenue. “Cops probably prevented a homicide from happening,” Lt. Stephen Varn said. Officials say cops were patrolling when they saw Salazar openly carrying a 12-inch kitchen knife while walking toward Osorio who appeared as if he was preparing for a fight. Cops then drew their weapons and ordered Salazar to stop and drop the knife. While cops were arresting Salazar, officials say, responding police stopped Osorio who was walking away and also carrying a knife. When cops ordered Osorio to show his hands, he allegedly dropped a kitchen knife into the yard next to him. Osorio and Salazar are both charged with a weapon offense.

Sucker Punch: Theodore McNeil, 30, was arrested Monday after he allegedly punched a hospital employee for seemingly no reason. The victim told police he was walking in the hospital when McNeil suddenly punched him in the eye, knocking him to the ground. The incident was witnessed by hospital security who detained McNeil until cops arrived. The victim suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding in the space between the brain and the tissue covering the brain. McNeil is charged with aggravated assault.

Domestic Robbery: Curtis Smith was arrested Monday for allegedly punching an ex-girlfriend in the face and then stealing her cellphone. Officials say Smith entered the woman’s home and made his way to her bedroom, which sparked an argument leading up to the assault. After he took the phone, officials say, Smith fled. But warrants were issued for his arrest and he was later apprehended.

Drug Bust: Shashadine Turner, 29, was arrested over the weekend after police found him in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, a digital scale and $2,338 in cash, which was seized as suspected drug proceeds. Officials say cops encountered Turner after witnessing an alleged drug deal.

Truck Found Submerged: Authorities pulled a truck out of the Delaware River Tuesday morning. Officials say they were alerted to the vehicle around 8:53 a.m., and that it was submerged in the river near Riverside Drive and Bloomfield Avenue. The truck had Pennsylvania tags and no one was found inside the vehicle. Officials are not sure of the location where the vehicle initially entered the water.
