John L. Poole,

“JP”, 74, of Bordentown, NJ departed this life on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly, NJ.

Born in Elizabeth City, NC, John was educated in the Pasquotank County School System in Elizabeth City, NC. He moved to New Jersey in the 1970s.

John retired from the Hibbert Group in 2010 after 35 years of dedicated service. John’s hobbies were playing pool and watching westerns and karate movies.

John is predecease­d by his parents, Willie Gaither and Armeasie Poole; a son, Johnny Poole, Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie L. Poole (Evelyn), Robert L. Poole (Barbara); one sister, Mary E. Campbell; one brother-in-law, Raymond Sawyer; four grandchild­ren, Michael Parker, Jr., Chase Mason, Arnold Poole and Lance Beckett; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Coleman Sr. (Ella and Mattie), brothers and sistersin-law, James Coleman, Jr., Charles F. Coleman, Minnie Laws (Larry), Lee Turner (Rita), Elizabeth Lee, Albert and John Sanders.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 16 years, Evelyn Poole; his children, Monica Poole of Bordentown, NJ, Karen, Armeasie, Jeannie and Stephanie Poole, Kathy Heath (Tyreek) all of Trenton, NJ and Monique Howell (Karl) of Hamilton, NJ; 26 grandchild­ren; 45 great grandchild­ren; 3 great great grandchild­ren; two sisters, Annie Sawyer of Willingbor­o, NJ and Wyoma Poole of Brooklyn, NY; four sisters-in-law, Rella D. Spaights (William) of Galloway, NJ, Debbie Sanders Coleman, Regina Coleman, two brothers-in-law, Wayne Sanders Coleman all of Trenton, NJ and Tyrone Coleman (Chinita) of Pleasantvi­lle, NJ; 3 aunts, Aida Bowser of Trenton, NJ, Anna Mae Caberass of Norfolk, VA, Alice Poole of Elizabeth City, NC and a dear cousin and best friend, Thomas Poole of Elizabeth City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel 1225 Calhoun St. Trenton, NJ.

Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the chapel.
