Reed Gusciora kicks off campaign for mayor
Speaking in front of the abandoned municipal parking garage on the corner of Broad and Front streets Saturday afternoon, Reed Gusciora announced the official kick-off of his mayoral campaign.
“Over the past three weeks, my team and I spoke with more than five hundred Trentonians from every corner of the city,” Gusciora said. “I am honored and humbled by the early support they have shown my campaign, and excited to prove to them, and all of Trenton’s residents, why I am the best choice for the city’s future.”
Gusciora said he is running for mayor because “Trenton needs dedicated, experienced, and innovative” leadership.
“As a long-serving state legislator, I am uniquely positioned to view and address Trenton’s issues from the broad perspective they require, and to work with our partners in the public and private sectors more effectively to fund the critical initiatives and spur the development that the city needs to succeed,” Gusciora said. “Collectively, I believe my experiences — as legislator, lawyer, prosecutor, and professor — qualify me for the office of mayor of Trenton, because they have given me a broad perspective on the issues that affect the city and understanding of the broad toolkit of policy remedies that can address those issues. I also believe that I can position my administration as an empowering force in the life of Trenton’s residents. While I know I can provide pioneering leadership, I want City Hall to be a proactive partner that works with our robust network of community organizations to identify the issues important to them, and then provide residents with the professionals, support, and tools that they need to succeed.”
Gusciora said Trenton’s problems are compounded
