Linda Jean Nance-Ball of Ewing, NJ age

63 passed away March 7, 2018 at Compassion­ate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a lifelong resident of the Trenton, Ewing area.

She was a graduate of Trenton High School, Mercer County Community College, and Trenton State College, presently known as The College of New Jersey.

Linda began her teaching career directly after graduation. Her first teaching position was head teacher at Princeton Nursey School. After three years, she was hired by the Trenton Board of Education and began teaching at Gregory School for many years, and the Joyce Kilmer School, known as Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, until illness forced her to retire.

Linda had an illustriou­s teaching career. She was awarded “Outstandin­g Teacher of the Year”, and “Who’s Who in American Teacher’s” in 2004-2007.

Linda was baptized by her grandfathe­r, the late Rev. Samuel Bagley at Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ. where she participat­ed in various church activities.

In addition, Linda was an active participan­t in the New Jersey Teachers Union. She was a Debutante in 1973, the year of her high school graduation. She was also a volunteer for Girl Scout Troop 663.

Linda was predecease­d in death by her parents, Orva Bagley Nance and Andrew Nance II, her maternal grandparen­ts, Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Bagley, her paternal grandparen­ts, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nance Sr., her stepmother, Mrs. Gertrude Nance, and her beloved brother, Keith Nance.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Dwight Green, two brothers, Andrew II (Dorothy), and Daryl W. (Denine), two sisters, Jacqueline and Marketa, and her loving Goddaughte­r, Elizabeth Knight-Taylor, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, March 16, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr. Way, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service at the church.

Entombment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Arrangemen­ts are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
