Trenton

Christmas in March: Daionna Riley, 20, was hit with charges of robbery and complicity following a Christmas Day strongarm heist of her ex-boyfriend. Cops say Riley was the getaway driver behind the wheel when another man, Donte Abdullah, 27, beat up and jacked her ex-boyfriend of a smartphone outside a gas station on the 100 block of Calhoun Street. Abdullah was taken into custody Jan. 24, while the investigation remained open eventually culminating in the arrest of Riley this week.

Crack Jack: Euquan Jackson, 21, was popped by street crime detectives on Hamilton Avenue and Hudson Street around 9 p.m. Detectives saw Jackson drop something on the ground. Cops arrested and charged Jackson after determining he dropped crack cocaine and marijuana.

Flee Spree: Daquan Picott, 29, was picked up by street crime detectives near Broad and Perry streets after they saw a vehicle traveling recklessly down the street. Officers pursued and tried to pull over the vehicle but the driver took off refusing to stop. Cops gave chase until the vehicle crashed a short distance later into a fence outside the Donnelly Homes complex on Southard Street. The driver got out of the car and bolted but cops caught up to him on foot after a short chase. Picott ran from the

boys in blue because, as cops later discovered, he had a small amount of pot on him. Now he also faces charges that include obstructing and eluding, along with at least a dozen motor vehicle tickets. Sexual Predator Sentenced: A Morris County man who posted an advertisement on Craigslist seeking a “younger female” was sent to the slammer for three years for luring a 13-year-old girl into sex. The “girl” was actually an undercover state police detective. Now, Robert Elmi, 64, of Gillette, is a convicted felon after admitting Jan. 31 to luring a child. He’s required to register as a sex offender and will be on lifetime parole supervision following his prison stint. Elmi was arrested last year, one of 79 child predators and child pornography offenders nabbed as part of a ninthmonth investigation dubbed “Operation Safety Net.” The undercover cop responded to Elmi’s post soliciting a young girl. He communicated with the cop posing as a 13-yearold over text and email for several weeks then arranged to meet the “girl” at diner in Union County. They planned to go back to his pad to drink, watch TV, kiss and perform oral sex on each other. Elmi was snared at the diner, his sick and sadistic plan thwarted, authorities said. “We will never cease in our collaborative efforts to monitor social media and other sites for child predators, because we have no higher priority than protecting children,” Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said.
