Nellie L. Deal

Nellie L. Deal, known affectionately to her family and friends as “Mommy Nellie”, went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2018.

Born in Paterson, GA, Nellie was an accountant assistant who earned her Degree from Mercer County Community College. She spent 37 years employed by the Division of Taxation, State of New Jersey.

Nellie was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church and an honorary member of the Senior Usher Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton D. Hayes; her parents, Mildred and John Henry Washington; two brothers, Alfred and Franklin Washington; three sisters, Lauren Thomas, Betty Monroe and Roseann Gilbert.

She is survived by two sons, John and Terry Deal of Washington D.C.; three daughters, Debra Jenkins and Shirley Loran of Ewing, NJ, and Carol Warren McCray of Trenton, NJ; five sisters, Melvin Britton of Blackshere, GA, Elouise Custard of Columbus, GA, Elizabeth Taylor of Balxey, GA, Mildred McNair of Jonesboro, GA and Connie Debela of Durham, NC; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Deal of Washington D.C.; three sons-in-law, Gregory Jenkins of East Brunswick, NJ, Fredy Loran of Ewing, and Terry McCray of Trenton; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be Friday at 10am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr. Way Trenton, NJ.

Entombment will be in Ewing Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Friday from 8am to 10am at the church.

Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
