TerraCycle announces 2018 Recycled Playground Challenge
TRENTON » TerraCycle has partnered with Colgate and ShopRite in the 2018 Recycled Playground Challenge.
Students will compete for one of two recycled playgrounds for their school in the biggest contest in the promotion’s history
Schools in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut and Maryland can compete for two new playgrounds made of recycled material.
Participating schools earn playground credits by sending oral care waste, such as empty toothpaste tubes and floss containers, to TerraCycle. Schools can earn more credits through online voting at TerraCycle.Com/ColgateShopRitePlayground2018.
“This event and the Colgate Oral Care Recycling Program are part of our commitment to ensuring the well-being of our customers and the preservation of our environment,” said Juan Pablo Zamorano, president of Colgate-Palmolive.
Winners will be announced July 30, and the playgrounds will be installed in fall. The second runner-up school and six honorable mentions will get prizes and ShopRite gift cards.
ShopRite will have contest displays throughout stores and information about on its Facebook page.
“The Recycled Playground Challenge motivates students to recycle and teaches them innovative ways to help the environment,” said Christine Magyarits, manager of community relations at ShopRite.”
