Kim P. Summers of Chesterfield
Kim P. Summers, 61, of the Mace Chasm Road, Chesterfield, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
Born a sunbeam to Melvin and Patricia Jenkins on August 1st, 1956 Kim was predeceased by her daughter, Taylor; nephews, Jayme Russo and SPC Benjamin Moore; and brother, Gary Jenkins. She spent her life spreading sunshine and joy to all who she met.
Kim worked many jobs locally. Over the years-she provided loving child care from home and then as a school bus driver and as an aide at the local school. She tended to the elderly at Horace Nye Nursing Home and helped people along at a halfway house. She found her calling working at ARC. Kim worked tirelessly for decades providing compassionate and nurturing care to people across the entire spectrum of disabilities. She saw the fulfillment of the human spirit in everyone and made the effort to brighten the souls of all that she came across. She truly did advocate and find resources for all of the people-big or small-in her life. She took great pride in her work and was always humbled and driven by the opportunity to work.
She absolutely loved children, known for going out of her way to talk to any crying baby in a store. An undeniably booty shakerKim wore out every dance floor she saw. She was a talented artist-crafts and drawings, and baker.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, William “Bill”; daughter, Emma and son-in-law, Jeremy Lloyd; sisters, Debbie (Paul) Julian and Amy (Patrick) Moore; brother, Gavin Jenkins; parents; niece, Jennifer (Shawn) Dempster; nephews, Patrick (Marissa) Moore and Paul (Kara) Julian, Jr.; and many beautiful great-nieces and greatnephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 4 PM in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Shaw, officiating.
