The weather has played havoc with the practice schedule in the Colonial Valley Conference as teams are still trying to work out the kinks, and yet it’s just about time for the first draw control.

Again, every division will be contested as there are many talented players and a bunch of hungry newcomers ready to get the season started.

Here is look at each CVC team.

Coach: Jen Garavente (2nd season, 13-2)

Assistant Coach: Chris Bratty, Emily Kratz

Last Year: 13-2, reached CJ 3 final, Valley Division champions Roster: Mary Bellotti (Sr., D), Hadley Borkowski (Sr., D), Rylee Fogarty (Sr., A), Julianna Golden (Sr., A), Marin Hartshorn (Sr., M), Gianna Skowronski (Sr., D), Erin Wikoff (Sr., D/M), Sierra Wojcik (Sr., D), Kaitlyn Bergan (Jr., M), Abby Howell (Jr, G). Kennedy Munster (Jr., A), Madison Regina (Jr., D), Jillian Rekulak (Jr., G), Shelby Tanner (Jr., D), Sofia Micklovic (So., D), Kylie Reed (So., M), Brianna Samuels (So., A), Morgan Vaccaro (So., A/M), Isabella Walker (So., M/A).

Outlook: The Redbirds came within four goals of a perfect season and they return enough of that squad to certainly make up those four goals. Marin Hartshorn will again lead the attack with support from Julianna Golden and Kaitlyn Bergan. The defense is sound with Mary Bellotti, Gianna Skowronski and Sierra Wojcik setting the tempo. Abby Howell an allstar in the cage returns. This team has a reason to be ready for the season

to start.

Coach: Leslie Conant (12th season) Assistant Coach: Kelly Hammer Last Year: 5-8

Roster: Aqsa Ali, Andie Barnes, Kendall Bartkowski, Keri Capstack, Lauren Ettenger, Lilly Fioravanti, Amelie Francois, Lara Martin, Abdulla Marzooq, Katie McGinn, Ty Melvin, Kaia Robison, Ashley Romero, Olivia Ruch, Samantha Sebasto, Molly Servis, Ashton Stemler, Amy Torres, Bianca Torres, Zicara Whyte, Saoirse Wollert, Daria Wysocka, Kiyla Peterson. Outlook: It’s a young group of Blue Devils and it will look to the veterans to keep things together as the younger players begin to get a feel for the game. Keri Capstack leads the returning scorers and will be one of the leaders on the field. One of the positive things for Ewing is the depth is there as the numbers keep improving. Along with that comes some better competition in practice. The Blue Devils could

surprise some teams this season. Coach: Kerryn Campbell (4th season) Last Year: 4-9

Roster: Monserrat Acosta (Sr.), Haley Barnacz (Sr.). Maria Cobena (Sr.). Amanda Collins (Sr.), Victoria Martin (Sr.), Alexis Nanni (Sr.), Shelby South (Sr.), Alaina Dickinson (Jr.), Alyson Martinez (Jr.), Katie Mayernik (Jr.), Lucia Stout (Jr.), Samantha Yales (Jr.), Nicole Vigna (Jr.), Lauren LeClaire (So.), Elizabeth Mains (So.). Outlook: Gone are Melanie Meara’s goals and the saves by Shannon Hood, but the Hornets will look to add by subtraction. They will look to strength in numbers as the younger players step into their new roles. This should be a team that will get stronger

throughout the year.

Coach: Erin Scheno (1st season) Assistant Coach: Anna Kibrick, Loran Wyrough

Last Year: 8-9

Roster: Abigail Agostino (Sr., A), Natasha Fidler (Sr., D), Carly Haug (Sr., M), Katrina Kosmides (Sr., G), Nina Mason (Sr., G), Rachael Masone (Sr., M), Jasmine Matson (Sr., M), Diba Onochie (Sr., D), Ashley Rogers (Sr., D), Anna Trancozo (Sr., M), Ashley Buestan (Sr., D), Hailey Cammarata (Jr., A), Daniela Ferrel (Jr., M), Valeria Ferrel (Jr., M), Katherine Gazaleh (Jr., M), Carli Peters (Jr., A), Julianna Quigg (Jr., D). Outlook: Scheno, who played at West Chester, takes over the fortunes of the Rams and she has a solid group of returning players to help ease the transition. It will take a few games to get used to not having Kenzie Roca to lean on, but the talent is there. This will be a team that should be getting more confident as the season

progresses. Coach: Pam Edwards (15th year) Assistant Coach: Kelsey O’Gorman, Courtney Higgins, Lauren Ashman Last Year: 12-9, MCT finalist Roster: Maya Hill (Sr., D), Lexie Banket (Sr., A), Ella Merkle (Sr., M/D), Lauren Kingsbury (Sr., M), Adelinne Danieluk (So., A), Maddie Schrader (So., M), Lindsey Parker (So., D), Carly Sison (So., D/M), Fiona Rockey (So., M), Emma Levine (Sr., A), Westley Lennon (Jr. A/D), Grace McGeeney (So., A/D), Sara Maggion (So., D), Julia Glozer (So., A/D), Kileigh Pfluger (Jr., D/M), Caroline Levine (Sr., A), Kate Linnehan (Sr., A/D), Katee Kemether (Jr., G), Jess Sedor (So., M).

Outlook: The Bulldogs lost some scoring with graduation, but there is still plenty of offense led by Lauren Kingsbury, Ella Merkle, Maddie Schrader and Emma Levine. The defense and midfield will be controlled by Kileigh Pfluger, Carly Sison and Sara Maggion along with Katee Kemether returning in the goal. There is a lot of leadership on this team and it should mean another

banner season in the Valley. Coach: Heather Phillips (13th season) Assistant Coach: Katie O’Gorman Last Year: 10-6, Division champs Roster: Morgan Franc (Sr., D), Yasmine Hachicha (Sr., D/M), Veronika Hajduczka (Sr. D), Madison Miller (Sr., A), Victoria Wierzbowisz (Sr., M), Jacqueline Yank (Sr. D), Sarah Zoll (Sr., A), Sarah Berardi (Jr., M), Cassidy Carroll (Jr., D/M), Grace Dismukes (Jr., A), Sydney Schreiber (Jr., D), Nadia Williams (Jr., A), Avina Antala (So., D), Carly Brummel (So., D), Eva Detroia (So., A), Melanie Gonzalez (So., A), Marissa Parker (So., M), Madison Wingerter (So., G), Joelle D’Angelo (Fr., A/M), Barrett Miller (Fr., D) Outlook: The Cardinals breezed through the Patriot Division undefeated in 2017 and they definitely will contend again this season. They lost some scoring, but some promising young players are ready to step up to the challenge. Sara Berardi will lead the attack and Madison Wingerter has another year of experience in the goal to make her even tougher to score on. It’s been a steady progression for

Lawrence and it should continue. Coach: Bryan Fisher (10th season, 6th at ND, 133-43)

Assistant Coach: Bob Henderson, Erika Deetjen, Erik Trost, Gabby Meck Last Year: 15-6, CJ 3 champions Roster: Kaila Bernsteil (So.), Tara Bernsteil (So.), Nicole Burney (So.), Cate Buecker (So.), Julia DellAngelo (So.), Morgan Doonan (Junior), Emily Guenther (So.), Haley Kosco (Sr.), Jessica Layton (Jr.), Danielle Losier (Jr.), Cassidy Meidling (Jr.), Erin Olenchalk (Jr.), Carly Persichilli (Sr.), Nikki Phillips (Jr.), Sabrina Phillips (Jr.), Jessica Pisani (Jr.), Maddie Rizzuto (Sr.), Julia Rossi (Sr.), Ava Scudillo (Jr.), Lauren Seibel (Jr.), Angelina Skowronski (Fr.), Gabby Skowronski (Fr.), Lucia Zemeitz (Jr.).

Outlook: Don’t be alarmed — you are not seeing double watching Notre Dame. It’s just that the Irish have four sets of twins in the program. After a sectional championship season in 2017, the Irish would love to double their pleasure. The saw some goals leave with graduation, and although they are young, veterans like Maddie Rizzuto, Carly Persichilli, Dani Losier and Nicole Burney in the goal will help keep the Irish a very competitive team. There might be a few bumps along the way, but they will be there

come May. Coach: Matt Paglione (1st season) Assistant Coach: Christie Fink

Last Year: 3-8

Roster: Olyvia Benton (Fr.), Brooke Hoffman (Fr.), Maimura Quddus (Fr.), Sabrina Seidl (Fr.), Victoria Urban (Fr.), Rachel Sarat (So.) Oriana Seitz (So.), Kathryn Turban (So.), Ashley Callejas (Jr.), Lauren Dempsey (Jr.), Michaela Donnelly (Jr.), Sara Haas (Jr.), Celeste Haerston-Brown (Jr.), Madelyn Lippincott (Jr.), Nicole Mendez (Jr.), Fallyn Niedermaier (Jr.), Karicia Perea (Jr.), Giuliana Pocino (Jr.), Jezenia Sanchez (Jr.), Meraya Sirimis (Jr.), Molly Cuddy (Sr.), Amelia Duffy (Sr.), Sierra Mulrine (Sr.), Elizabeth Tuchez (Sr.) Outlook: The Northstars have some depth and that will make a big difference as they continue to progress. The two top scorers, Michaela Donnelly and Madelyn Lippincott, are back and keeping the ‘Stars on the attack. The competition in preseason will make them a stronger team. Christie Fink did a great job getting the program moving forward and now Matt Paglione is ready to take it to the next

level. Coach: Sara Doran (2nd season, 14-8) Assistant Coach: Katie Federico, Meg Reilly

Last Year: 14-8

Roster: Grace Reardon (Jr., G), Kathryn DeMilt (Jr., M), Serena Blitho (Jr., M), Sophia Navarrete (Sr., D), Lauren Rougas (Sr., M), Mariana Lopez-Ona (Jr., M), Lila Doran (So., D), Olivia Intartaglia (Jr., D), Megan Mavoides (Jr., D), Shaylah Marciano (So., A), Morgan Swanke (So., A), Morgan Mavoides (Jr., D), Faith Carver (So., A), Anna Wood (Jr, M), Shoshi Henderson (Fr, M), Abaigeal Ryan (Sr., M), Eva Petrone (So., M), Morgan Beamer (So., M), Margaret Jacobs (Sr., A), Maddie Samanan (Fr., M), Kendall Lieberman (Sr., A), Molly Frain (So., M). Outlook: The threesome of Marianna Lopez-Ona, Abaigeal Ryan and Shaylah Marciano accounted for 165 goals last season and they will be the force behind the Little Tigers’ attack this season. Princeton will be right there to contend for a division title and make some noise in the county tournament. There is some experience on the back line and it will get stronger through

the year. Coach: JennaMarie Colicchia (4th year, 19-30)

Assistant Coach: Mary Jane Seiler, Rachel Ippolite

Last Year: 7-11

Roster: Megan Testa (Sr., M), Alex Civitello (Sr., A), Amanda Allen (Jr., M), Andrea Pintimalli (Sr., D), Ash Ganesh (Sr., D), Ava Lake (So., A), Ava Zoltanski (Sr., A), Claire Herrera (Jr., D), Hannah Shea (So., M), Johnna Verry (Sr., A), Karly Diel (So., M), Laura Redler (Sr., G), Rachael Sepcic (Sr., M), Riley Tuffy (Sr., D), Kayla Horton (Jr., G), Maria Cox (So., D), Heather Stauffacher (So., D), Rachel Horan (So., M). Outlook: The Ravens have a senior laden team and some quality leadership and should be ready to add a few more wins. The will be a team that’s in every game and not one to be taken lightly. They will look to Amanda Allen, Rachael Sepcic and Johnna Verry to build on last year’s numbers. Coach: Lorraine Heisler (6th season) Assistant Coach: Sam Nowak, Aaron Stanley, Matt Paternostro, Kelsey Harshman

Last Year: 7-6

Roster: Kristen Brown (Sr., D), Morgan Geiger (Sr., D), Ashley Goimbert (Jr., M), Emily Guslby (Sr., D), Hannah Hart (Jr., M), Jordan Jones (Sr., D), Erin Kopec (Jr., M), Megan Mancini (So., M), Heidi Martz (Fr., G), Ashley Nadolny (Jr., A), Katie O’Boyle (Jr., A), Gabby Onorati (Sr., A), Madison Padilla (Sr., A), Emily Paternostro (So., M), Madison Paternostro (Sr., D), Juliana Silvestri (So., M), Kayline Skillman (Sr., A), Maddy Yonkowski (Sr., D). Outlook: The Spartans made it to the second round of the state tournament for the first-time last season and with their top three scorers, Hannah Hart, Emily Paternostro and Ashley Goimbert returning it shouldn’t be a problem finding the goal. The defense will look to seniors Morgan Geiger, Jordan Jones and Emily Gulsby to solidify the back line. They will definitely contend

for a division championship. Coach: Julia Giordano (2nd season, 7-11)

Assistant Coach: Lauren Small, Beth Serughetti

Last Year: 7-11

Roster: Xenia Alecia (Sr.), Elena Boal (Sr.), Sruthi Darbha (Sr.), Megan Foley (Sr.), Bella Jacobson (Sr.), Srilahari Kunchapu (Sr.), Katie Laresch (Sr.), Gitka Maheshwari (Sr.), Michelle Marcus (Sr.), Elizabeth O’Connell (Sr.), Nora Pehnke (Sr.), Meghana Reddy (Sr.), Camille Redmond (Sr,), Samantha Richman (Sr.), Aspen Rodas (Sr.), Elizabeth Bianchine (Jr.), Olivia Dyke (Jr.), Emma Lilleywhite (Jr.), Hana Mahmood (Jr.), Aditi Nayak (Jr.), Jillian Pelosi (Jr.), Maria Tello (Jr.), Jessica Heiser (So.), Caley Knox (So.), Kathryn Murphy (So.), Olivia Richardson (So.), Sydney Vogel (So.)

Outlook: The Knights return a lot of players that survived the growing pains last season and should be ready to take the next step this season. Maria Tello and Jillian Pelosi, the top two scorers from 2017, return and that will aid the attack the defense is solid with Elena Boa returning to guard the cage. It should be a vastly improved

North team in 2018. Coach: Tracy Klugerman (2nd season, 9 -11)

Assistant Coach: Laura McCormick Last Year: 9-11

Roster: Audrey Brown (Sr., D), Lenni Elias (Sr., D), Lizzy Jean-Jacques (D/A), Janie Klugerman (Sr., M), Kaitlin MacKay (Sr., G), Arshia Singhal (Sr., D/A), Allie Strouse (Sr., M), Adela Agnew (Jr., M), Anne-Charlotte Frotte (Jr., G), Jahnavi Badri (So,., A), Phoebe Elias (So., D), Amanda Guest (So., M/D), Asha Hauser (So., G), Halle Johnson (So., M), Kaity Mattia (So,. M/A), Ella Ramirez (So., A), Abigail Randow (So., M/D), Lindsey Walter (So., D/A), Emma Gartenberg (Fr., D/A), Annie Klugerman (Fr., A).

Outlook: The Pirates had a special season last year, achieving their best record since 2011 and reaching the second round of the state tournament for the first time in six years. South should build on the great season and contest for a division title with Allie Strouse and Jane Klugerman leading the attack. A lot of returning players just might just get the Pirates around the corner.
