Pastor Eartha Brown, 83, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on Monday, March

26, 2018, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, NJ with her loving family by her side. Born in Denmark, SC, she was educated in the Blackville, SC Public School System and was blessed to be a homemaker. Upon moving to Trenton, NJ in 1956, she became a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and later joined The Church of the Lord Jesus House of Prayer for All People. She was ordained as the Pastor of the Church of the Lord Jesus in 1987 under the late Bishop Ernell Steed; and went on to complete her Biblical Studies in 1991, at the Manhattan Bible Institute an extension in Patterson, NJ. She received her theologica­l diplomas and certificat­es in General Bible, Pastoral Care, Evangelism and Disciplesh­ip. She served her church and community as devotional leader, Sunday School Teacher, youth minister and outreach worker for those addicted to drugs and alcohol. In addition, she establishe­d feeding programs at the church and partnered with social service organizati­ons to feed the homeless.

Pastor Brown was predecease­d by her parents, Louise Johnson and Lloyd Collins, her husband of 48 years, Arthur Brown Sr., a daughter Lenora A. Brown, grandson Arthur (Wayne) Hall, sister Verdell Collins Harley, son-in-law Robert C. Thomas, her beloved Bishop John D. Brown. She is survived by her sons, Harold Brown (Brenda), Arnell Brown (Joyce), Arthur Brown Jr. all of Ewing, NJ, Ferrell Brown, Tyrone Brown (Dorshonda), Trenton, NJ, Daniel Arthur (Valerie) of Hopewell, NJ; daughters, Ruby Rutledge (Ernest) of Ewing, NJ, Loretta McRae (James), Robbinsvil­le, NJ, Patricia Thomas, Trenton, NJ and Tammie Brown of Ewing, NJ; sisters Idallas Steed, Philadelph­ia, PA, Thomas Ann Rice and Eloise C. Jemerson of Orangeburg, SC, two sister-inlaws, Inez Hutto and Lelia (JoAnn) Hill of Trenton, NJ; one brother-in-law Stanley Brown (Joyce) and host of loving grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries Inc. 1217 Calhoun St. Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 8 am until time of service at the church. Interment Greenwood Cemetery Hamilton, NJ. Arrangemen­ts are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
