WW-PN blanks Ewing to remain unblemishe­d

PLAINSBORO » The West Windsor North softball team continued the impressive start to its season with a 3-0 win over Ewing Tuesday afternoon.

The big story in this one was the pitching of McKenna Carpener, who shut down previously unbeaten Ewing with a one-hitter and nine strikeouts. Lauren Christense­n struck out eight and threw a five-hitter in defeat.

Maddie Russell had the big hit with a gamewinnin­g, two-run single in the fifth when North scored all its run. Emily Garron also doubled for North (4-0).

HIGHTSTOWN 6, WEST WINDSOR SOUTH 2 PRINCETON JCT. » The Rams picked up another victory when Kristin Oberg homered and Alliie Bridgman got the win with a four-hitter and six strikeouts. Bridgman and Hannah Crisco both doubled. Izzy Hulme was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Bridgman was also 3-for-4.
