Trenton crushes Princeton with offensive onslaught

- Staff Report

PRINCETON » If the girls on the spirited Trenton High School softball team sense that they can beat you, there’s a very good chance you are going to pay a heavy price.

One day after dropping a heartbreaking one-run game to Princeton, Trenton got revenge big time Wednesday by crushing that same Princeton team, 25-7.

With the victory, Trenton (2-3) doubled last year’s win total and can get to .500 with a win at Trenton Catholic Thursday. Needless to say, it’s also not very often Trenton wins on the run rule.

“It’s been a long time,” replied Trenton coach Ryan McAmy when asked when was the last time the Tornadoes beat someone by 10 runs. “It might have happened five or six years ago.”

For the second day in a row, Quashauna Dixon struck out 12. Ashley Flores got Trenton going with a two-run double and later singled. Jada White smacked a big triple, Dixon singled and doubled, and Erica Brisita cleared the bases with a single.

“All the girls hit,” said McAmy. “It was a team effort.”
