New Man, Same Problems: The former girlfriend of notorious scofflaw Lawrence Sutphin has a new man. And despite ditchng her old man, she’s still in trouble for trying to mow down her new beau with a car, cops said. Briana Lane, 21, Sutphin’s former side piece who gained notoriety when she was charged for being involved in a retaliatory drive-by shooting, was charged with assault by auto and weapons offenses. Cops say the weapon in this case was a Buick that she used to try to run over her current boyfriend. It all happened after an argument on the 1000 block of South Broad Street.

Witnesses corroborated the account the 20-year-old man gave to police about his unhinged girlfriend accelerating toward him in an alley. He tried to get out of Lane’s way and ended up on the hood, injuring his ankle. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Lane was arrested and charged as cops noted damage to both mirrors on the Buick as well as scratches to the driver-side door.
