Anna Fleith Wegschaidler of Hamilton

-

Anna Fleith Wegschaidler 94 of Hamilton passed away peacefully April 17, 2018 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center.

Anna was born February 27, 1924 in Calma, Yugoslavia into a privileged life which was devastated by WWII. She had to flee her home and resettled in Austria, Where she met her husband Hermann.

In 1952 with her babe in arms, she immigrated to the USA to start a new life. Her husband joined her a year later. She was a modern woman long before a working woman was common. She worked at Horseman Doll Factory, General Electric, then at St. Francis Hospital for many years becoming a supervisor before she retired in 1986.

Her husband died much too soon, leaving her with two children to raise on her own. She dedicated her life to her children and then to her grandchildren. She was a wonderful role model to her children and grandchildren.

She was a determined, kind and gentle woman whose many trials in her life never affected her positive attitude toward everyone she encountered.

She did not deserve the affects her illness had on her the last years of her life. She shared her family’s joys, believed in then, and supported then in all they did.

We were so very blessed to have had our Mama and Omi in our lives.

She was an unfailingly gracious woman who was an inspiration to her family and will be missed but never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Anna Fleith, her husband Hermann Wegschaidler, and her brother in law Hans Welker.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Ernst and Kathleen Wegschaidler, her daughter and son in law, Dagmar and Stan Stepien, her beloved grandchildren, Gina Sperling and husband Brian, Michael Wegschaidler, Alexa Stepien, Sister in law Magdalena Welker and nephew Richard Welker and relatives in Austria and Germany.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Continuing Care for the love and care they gave to Anna over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral 9:00am Saturday at Knott’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton Catholic services will begin at 9:30am precisely. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6:00 8:00pm at the funeral home.
