Pennsbury snaps 7-game skid by beating CR North

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA. » The Pennsbury High School softball team is winless no more.

After what very well may have been its worst losing streak in program history when it dropped its first seven games, Pennsbury broke through Wednesday with a 5-2 win over Council Rock North.

Alyssa Hileman got the win with help from a home run by Casey Glynn and three hits by Allison Rose. Lauren Begg took the loss fpr a Rock North team (6-3) that has lost two in a row.

LAWRENCEVI­LLE 3, PEDDIE 1 LAWRENCEVI­LLE » Lindsay Cooker got the win as the Big Red upped its record to 7-1. Jane Anderson-Schmitt scored Peddie’s lone run in the 5th inning. Emily Hattman had three hits and Sydney Hixenbaugh drove in a run for Peddie. Hixenbaugh struck out nine. Peddie (2-4) 000 010 0 — 1 Lawrencevi­lle (7-1) 000 003 x — 3 WP-Kucker. LP-Hixenbaugh. NESHAMINY 5, TRUMAN 0 LANGHORNE, PA. » For the second day in a row, Liana Jones and Natalie Rios homered. The red-hot Rios had three hits. Sarah Dowalo got the win with a four-hitter and seven strikeouts. Although it lost, Truman had just one error and made some excellent plays in the field.
