Joseph “Porky” Prokopetz of Bordentown, N.J., passed away on April 17, 2018 at the VA Hospital, East Orange, NJ. Porky was born in Columbus, NJ, living most of his life in Bordentown. He was employed as a fork lift operator for Ocean Spray Cranberrie­s Inc., before his retirement in 1994. Previously he had a 30 year career in the US Navy and served in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars. He achieved the rank of Boatswain’s Mate Chief.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 6590, Cookstown, NJ, a member of American Legion Post 0026, a life member of the Tortuga Associatio­n, a member of the DAV chapter 85, Trenton, NJ, and was a member of Consolidat­ed Fire Assoc. 601, Bordentown, NJ.

Porky enjoyed gun collecting and repair, wood working, and attending stock car races, and attending Navy reunions.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty “Millie” Prokopetz; 2 sisters Theresa Ellis and Mary Downs both of Bordentown; a granddaugh­ter Marlee Bowden of Bordentown. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews; Ricky Ellis, Randy Ellis, Todd Ellis, April Lippert, Susan Fagans, Bobby Downs, and his best friend Roland Chipman.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown, N.J. 08505. Family and Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday April 25th at 9 AM to travel in procession to the Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery for 10 AM Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Cookstown VFW Post 6590, 22 Cookstown-Wrightstow­n Rd, Cookstown, NJ 08511.
